January 28, 2011

Had I known how cool Brian Wilson (the baseball player, not the Beach Boy) was two years ago, I never would have traded him from my fantasy team.  This interview is hilarious.

Ricky Gervais, the man behind the original British series ‘The Office’, also wrote and directed a show called ‘Extras’ on BBC which ran for two years.  The whole premise was to get celebrities to come on the show and film themselves with Ricky Gervais in really uncomfortable situations.  Genius.

Ray Bradbury proves science fiction is cool.

August 21, 2010

Ray Bradbury is doing alright for a 90 year old dude.

He's doing all right for a 90 year old dude, as you're about to see.

The author of such novels as Fahrenheit 451, The Halloween Tree, and Something Wicked This Way Comes just had a not-so-subtle video dedicated to him by a super eager science fiction fan.  Actually, her name is comedian Rachel Bloom and you can check out an interesting interview with her here if you’d like.  Or not.  But you should definitely watch the music video because it’s hilarious.

Oh, and it’s definitely not anywhere near to being appropriate for the workplace.  Not even close.

On Lou Brown

July 19, 2010

James Gammon, who managed Ricky ‘Wild Thing’ Vaughn and Roger Dorn as a grizzled Lou Brown in Major League and Major League II, died on July 16th.

Fortunately his contribution to baseball is going to be around for as long as movies are watched.

"Let me get back to you, will ya, Charlie? I got a guy on the other line asking about some white walls."

Old Time Baseball

Conan O’Brien will land on his feet somewhere.  He’s quirky, topical, and relevant.  And, regardless of where he ends up, he’ll always have that younger demographic following him because of skits like “Old Time Baseball”.  Check out Conan O’Brien’s greatest skit ever. Oh, my prince of comedy.

“And your father?”
“My father’s passed.”

Conan O'Brien and the lovely Nell.
